The mission of the Institute for Professional Development is to advocate professional development models for educators that will give them the knowledge, skills and identities to strengthen and support the learning of
all students in New Mexico.
In support of this mission, the Institute for Professional Development
engages in projects that create and sustain a statewide network of
resources for effective professional development of educators in P-16
settings. These projects enable
faculty and staff in the College of Education
to partner with schools, higher education, the New Mexico Public Education Department, and community organizations in systemic school reform endeavors. Together, these projects encompass and support the teaching, research, and service functions of the College of Education and the university as a whole.
The Institute for Professional Development supports excellence in the professional development of New Mexico K-12 educators and post-secondary teacher educators.
The Institute for Professional Development promotes excellence in teaching and learning in a variety of ways. Find out how you can enhance your skills and knowledge of effective teaching practices through IPD activities:
